Minister of Communications and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad, launched the portal, which was developed by the National Informatics Centre.
Designed to promote an eco-friendly and modern way of sending greetings, the portal was introduced ahead of India’s 68th Independence Day.
“Initially launched with unique designs for Independence Day, additional templates for other national events and festivals will be added over time,” an official statement noted.
Users can choose from various templates and send customized greetings, even incorporating quotes from the Prime Minister.
What makes this portal unique is its crowdsourced approach—most of the Independence Day greeting designs were submitted via the MyGov platform. The campaign attracted 3,572 submissions, with nearly 20 selected designs now available.
Although originally intended for government users, the portal is open to all citizens for sharing greetings with friends and family.
